Chelsea in the hunt for €30m-rated Sweden international
Chelsea reportedly face stiff competition in their pursuit of Sweden international defender Victor Lindelof, according to Football Italia.
The Premier League side, who boast a 100 per cent record in the English top-flight after defeating West Ham United, Watford and Burnley already this term, have been linked with the Benfica centre-half ahead of the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old, who has seven international caps for his country and featured for Sweden at the 2016 European Championships earlier this summer, has already made four appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese outfit.
Lindelof, who is also said to be attracting interest from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and Serie A giants Inter Milan, scored one goal in 30 games in all competitions for Benfica last season.
However the report suggests that new Blues boss Antonio Conte will have to meet the defender’s €30m buy-out clause.
Furthermore; Football Italia suggest any potential transfer fee could inflate even more if Lindelof signs a contract extension at the club, quoting around €45m.
